In Loving Memory of Nathan Cote Furr

Nathan Furr, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on October 5th, 2026, at the age of 47.
Born on October 15th, 1978, in Decatur, Georgia, he moved to the Denver area at age 6 where he stayed for the remainder of his life. He worked very hard to put himself through Fort Lewis College in Durango, where he graduated with a degree in business. He then returned home to Denver where he started his career as a salesman, ultimately changing industries recently to become a Landman, which he truly enjoyed and dedicated himself to. He married his soulmate and best friend, Kathleen, at the age of 31. They spent 7 years traveling and enjoying each other before starting a family in 2018.

Along with his wife, his son, Damien, age 8, and daughter, Lelayna “Laney”, age 5, were the center of his universe. They built a beautiful life enjoying camping trips, day trips to the river, local festivals, family vacations to the beach, backyard get togethers, the Broncos, music, and of course, trips to the skate park. He spent a good portion of his early adulthood creating and performing music and even recorded an album during that time.

Nate was loved by many and a cherished friend. He made friends in the least suspecting of places and shared many deep conversations with those who were open to it. Nate had a thirst for knowledge, and his love of reading was proof. He was fascinated by many topics including history/historical fiction, Greek mythology, non-fiction and sometimes even wild and eccentric theories. He taught us and lived by 2 important beliefs that we will carry with us: don’t care what other people think and don’t worry about what is out of your control.
Nate is now reunited with his precious rescue dog, Scarlett, his most recent coworker and constant companion who absolutely adored him and was by his side until her passing in September. The family’s 20-year-old cat, Leonitus “Leo”, named fittingly by Nate, lives on.
Though his life was far too short, the love he leaves behind, and the memories made will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His children and wife will carry his love with them always, and his legacy will live on in the family he cherished, the countless lives he touched and the lives he was able to save through his organ gifting.

Nathan is also survived by his mother, Linda Cote; father, Lester Furr and his wife, Patricia; sister, Jessica Savacool and her husband, Aaron; and half sister, Leslie Davis.

A celebration of life will be held on November 14th at the Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park. Services will begin at 1 P.M., with his wish for a party to start thereafter and end at 5 P.M.
