Patricia (Patty) Mill
October 20, 1941 - October 15, 2026
Patricia Mill, 84, of Lone Tree, Colorado, passed away on October 15, 2026, just five days before her 85th birthday.
Born Patricia Moore Decker in St. Louis, Missouri, to Robert F. and Jane M. Decker, Patty grew up in Kirkwood, Missouri. She married Lanny Lee Larason at 19, and in 1968 the family moved to the Lansing, Michigan, area, where she raised her three children, Robyn, Jeff, and Michael.
In 1979, Patty married Robert Christie Mill, known to family and friends as Bob or “Doc”. She happily became stepmother to Bob's children, David and Kim. In 1981, they moved to the Denver area, where they lived for the rest of their lives.
Patty earned a bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Denver and worked as a teacher for a time, but her greatest commitment was to her family. She was a caring, thoughtful mother who took a deep interest in her children's and stepchildren's lives. Their health, happiness, and accomplishments mattered enormously to her, and she was always ready to offer encouragement and support.
Patty and Bob shared a love of travel and adventure. For many summers, they traveled to London with students and family as part of Bob's work at the University of Denver. They also spent extended periods living in Budapest, Hungary, and India during his academic sabbaticals. Together they explored much of the world, enjoying cruises and the opportunity to experience new places and cultures.
At home in Colorado, Patty enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. She was an enthusiastic Denver Broncos fan, following the team through good seasons and bad. She also had her television favorites. Judge Judy was part of her daily routine, and she rarely missed an episode of 60 Minutes on Sunday evenings.
Above all, Patty found her greatest happiness in her family. She followed her children's and grandchildren's lives with genuine interest, celebrating their accomplishments, worrying about their challenges, and always wanting to know how they were doing. No matter how far apart they lived, she remained deeply invested in their lives.
Patty was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert Christie Mill, who passed away earlier in 2026.
She is survived by her children, Robyn Hanna (David), Jeff Larason (Marina), and Michael Larason; her stepchildren, David Mill (Jeannine) and Kim Miller (Joey); her sister, Shelly Farrell of New Hampshire; and her brother, Robert "Chip" Decker of South Carolina. She is also survived by six beloved grandchildren and five adored great-grandchildren.
Patty will be remembered for her kindness, her thoughtfulness, and her unwavering love for her family. She took genuine pleasure in the happiness and accomplishments of those she loved, and her care and encouragement will remain an important part of their lives.
A private family memorial will be held.
