Paul Albert Becker

Paul Albert Becker passed away peacefully with his immediate family by his side on September 13, 2025, in Edwards, Colorado, after complications with ALS. Paul was born on January 20, 1939, in Evansville, Indiana, to Roger Kenneth Becker and June Scheller Becker. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jayne Wanamaker Becker; his two sons, David Becker (Marina) and Michael Becker (Kim); four grandchildren Brad, Sam, Ava, and Isabella; and his sisters, Carol Witze and Claire Benz.
Paul’s early years in Evansville instilled a strong set of midwestern values and shaped a lifelong pursuit of excellence. He graduated from Bosse High School before studying engineering at the University of Michigan, going on to receive his MBA from Harvard Business School. Paul and Jayne raised their family in Summit, New Jersey, before enjoying their retirement years in Vero Beach, Florida.
Paul’s business career spanned decades in finance. He served as an Equity Analyst with Baker, Weeks & Company and as Managing Director at Mitchell Hutchins. He later became founder and Managing Partner of Summit Investors. He also contributed his expertise as a member of multiple corporate boards.
Music was a profound passion for Paul. An accomplished violinist, he received a scholarship to the Aspen Institute of Music, performed with the Evansville Philharmonic during high school and the Vero Beach Chamber Orchestra during retirement. He served for more than 20 years on the board of the Bravo! Vail Music Festival.
Paul’s philanthropic and community spirit led him to serve on the Board of Directors of United Against Poverty, the Vero Beach Museum of Art, and the Distinguished Lecture Series at Riverside Theatre, in addition to supporting other charitable and community efforts in both New Jersey and Florida.
Paul will be remembered for his warmth, integrity, sharp intellect, and commitment to friends and community. His legacy lives on through his loving family and the lasting impact of his professional and philanthropic work.
