Stephen K. Peterson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen K. Peterson, 83, of Centennial, Colorado. Steve passed away at his home on March 18th, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Steve grew up in Center City, Minnesota and graduated from Lindstrom/Center City High School in 1960. He continued his education earning degrees from St. Cloud State University and Idaho State University. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve for six years.

Steve had many interests throughout his life, but was especially known for his love of golf, and his delightful sense of humor. He traveled the world playing all of the well known courses, but was happiest when playing his home course, Bear Creek Golf Club, with his wonderful friends of many years. They were all wonderful pals, supporting him until the end. He was grateful for all of you.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Castelo; his brother, Lowell (Mary Jo) Peterson of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; his sister Pam (Dennis) Keto of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin; many nieces and nephews; and his lifelong best friend, John Grandstrand.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Florence Peterson.

We would like to thank the medical teams that assisted with his care while undergoing treatment, especially the nurses at the Infusion Center at RMCC and Littleton Hospital. They are wonderful.

Steve’s pals will honor him with a day of golf at Bear Creek Golf Club. A family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Minnesota.
