It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with her that we announce the passing of Cheri Gale Broach, who passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the age of 69.
Born on July 23, 1956, in Wray, Colorado, Cheri lived a resilient life rooted in love. She found joy in life's simple moments and devoted herself wholeheartedly to the people she cherished most.
If you knew Cheri, you knew her gentle spirit, kind heart, and some of the warmest hugs around. Her compassion reached far beyond her family—from lovingly crocheting baby blankets to rescuing dogs from animal shelters and opening her home to stray cats.
Christmas was her favorite season and she delighted in bringing its magic to life. She loved the glow of twinkling lights, sharing the holiday with those she loved, and could happily watch Holiday Inn on repeat.
Cheri was an avid reader with a remarkable love for books, finishing nearly 110 each year. Whether it was romance or horror, if it had pages, she was probably reading it.
She smiled at butterflies, admired rainbows, and loved listening to her collection of wind chimes dancing in the breeze. She enjoyed road trips to the mountains, singing along to oldies and country music while taking in the beauty around her. Her favorite meals usually involved Mexican food, especially Santiago's, and no Dairy Queen Blizzard ever tasted quite as good as one enjoyed during an actual snowstorm.
Cheri loved plants, even if her green thumb was still a work in progress. Her favorite flower was the violet lily, and she was naturally drawn to shades of purple and blue.
Above all else, Cheri loved her family. She was a devoted Nana, mother, sister, and aunt who simply loved hearing the voices of the people she cared about. She leaves behind a family forever changed by her kindness, quiet strength, and unconditional love.
Cheri is lovingly survived by her siblings, Bruce Weaver (Teresa), Jeanie Vigil (Ricky), Gary Weaver (Elaine), and Richard Hill (Gina); her daughters, Nicole (Nikki) Broach-Fahrenbruch and Mariah Keefer; her grandchildren, Isis (Toby) LeDoux and Johnathan Hulin; and her beloved furry companions, Angel, Charley, Muffin, Pixie, Ash and Jinx.
Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Cheri's love, traditions, and gentle spirit will continue to live on through each of us. She will be remembered in the quiet beauty of rainbows after a storm, butterflies drifting by, the soft song of wind chimes, and every fluffy animal that crosses our path. As we carry her memory forward, may we honor her by moving through life with the same kindness, gentleness, and love she so freely gave to everyone around her.
