Thomas John Davidson
July 15, 1956 - October 26, 2025
Thomas “Tom” John Davidson, beloved husband, father, grandfather and retired attorney, died at home on October 26, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. His wife, Joanne, was by his side.
Born on July 15, 1956, in Saratoga, Wyoming, Tom was the son of Dixie Larson Davidson and Thomas Albert Davidson. He earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Wyoming, receiving his Juris Doctor from the UW College of Law in 1983.
Throughout his distinguished legal career, Tom served in both the public and private sectors, most notably as Deputy Attorney General for the State of Wyoming. In that role, he was lead counsel on numerous high-profile water and natural-resource cases, appearing before regulatory agencies and state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court. His sharp intellect, integrity, and dedication to public service earned him the respect of colleagues and peers across his career.
Beyond his professional life, Tom was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who found his greatest joy in the company of family and friends. He cherished time outdoors, especially at “The Land” in Medicine Bow National Forest in Wyoming, his favorite place to relax, reflect, and share laughter around the fire. His easy sense of humor, generous heart, and steady presence made him a source of warmth and guidance to everyone who knew him.
Tom is survived by his wife, Joanne; four children, Jessamy (Max), Colter (Kellie), Josh (Laura), and Nicole (Alexis); and six grandchildren, Riley, Mollie, Addie, Zalea, Cassius, and Lewis. He is also survived by his siblings, Paul (Dynell), Daniel (Joyce), Jack (Grace), and Julie (Charles). He was preceded in death by his parents, Dixie and Tom; his brother, Brian (Suzanne); and his granddaughter, Ada.
A funeral service to honor Tom’s life will be held on November 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Church Denver in Denver, Colorado.
Tom will be remembered for his integrity, compassion, and unwavering love for his family – a man who lived fully, gave generously, and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength.
