We were somewhere in Utah when the gas began to run out. It was almost noon, and we still had hundreds of miles to go. It was April 13, and Shane had died 14 days before in Denver, where he had been living for the past two years with his dog, Thompson.

November 12, 1983 - May 5, 2023

Phil lit up the world around him as a son, brother, brother-in-law, friend, uncle, and nephew. He never met a stranger. His enthusiasm, spontaneity, and joyful personality impacted everyone he met, whether it be for minutes or years.

Amy Joy Halliburton, 40, of Centennial, CO, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023. Amy was a Colorado native, born to David and Connie Reed of Parker, CO, on July 23, 1982. Amy grew up in Littleton and Parker, CO and graduated from Ponderosa high school in 2001. After graduation, Amy went on to complete a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Shirley Miller Buttrick passed away peacefully on April 30, 2023 at the age of 98. She was born on November 11, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Anna and David Miller.

October 11, 1944 - April 28, 2023

Andrew Kaldor passed away comfortably at home surrounded by family on April 28th, 2023. He was born in Budapest, Hungary on October 11th, 1944, four months before the city’s liberation from the Nazis by Soviet forces. Along with his parents and sister, he survived the Holocaust thanks to Raoul Wallenberg’s heroic efforts to save Hungarian Jews. After the Hungarian Revolution in 1956, Andrew and his family escaped to Austria and then to the United States, where they made Berkeley, California their home.

Wanda Gray Lafferty passed on April 30, 2023 after a long illness. Wanda was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on August 21, 1947, and worked as a paralegal and most recently, as a technical writer. She leaves behind her husband, Denny, her sister, Eileen, and brother, Geoffrey, as well as her daughter, Andrea, son, Damon, and granddaughter, Aliera.

January 12, 1950 - April 10, 2023

Betty Cohn Simpson, of Olympic Valley, California, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2023, in Denver, Colorado, surrounded by her family and friends. She was 73.

John “Johnny” Arthur Brown of Colorado Springs, CO was freed of his earthly body on April 17th, 2023. He was born on May 8th, 1952 to William Earl Brown, Sr. and Vonceil Imogene Richards in southern Georgia.

July 17, 1981 - April 3, 2023

James Nall was born on summer day at the edge of the prairie to an Irish mother and a dad who was pure South Dakota, but more importantly, he was taken home to meet the two women who would boss him around for the next 41 years: his older sisters Terrie and Tracy. And they were delighted.
