Carla Keesecker

October 22, 2026

Carla Keesecker, 74, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and strength that will live on in the hearts of all that knew her.

Originally from Michigan, Carla moved to Colorado where she graduated from Littleton High School and built her life filled with family, friends, art, teaching and many wonderful memories. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art from the University of Denver and Masters in Art Education from Lesley University. As an undergraduate, she traveled throughout Europe and studied art at The Institute of European Studies in Vienna, Austria.

Carla was a talented artist who enjoyed painting landscapes and animals. She loved spending time in the mountains hiking, fishing, and gaining inspiration for her art. Daughter of Julie and Douglas, as a child, ice skates and paint brushes were prized possessions and a favorite pastime was climbing trees. She also created pottery, drawings, batiks and mixed media pieces. She shared an amazing passion for art as an Art Teacher, teaching at the elementary, middle, high school and junior college levels. She loved the beauty and variety in nature, enjoyed the movement of patterns in water, the play of light across surfaces, shapes and textures, expressing the mood, atmosphere, and feeling of a place with color. Carla’s artistic lens was a special part of who she was and her artwork will remain a lasting reflection of the beauty she saw in our world.

She was also remarkably brave and determined. She battled multiple sclerosis, but it never defined her. Instead she poured her energy into fierce determination to exercise, stretch, and the fight against MS; fundraising over $81K for the National MS Society through Walk MS over the last 20 years. Carla’s resilience and determination to support further research towards a cure are a testament to her strength.

Carla loved her family. Grandchildren brought her tremendous joy and laughter. The memories and special moments they shared from building forts in the living room, to making art, and eating pie will be treasured forever. She met her husband Wally at their church, and recently celebrated 52 beautiful years of marriage. They shared true love with a foundation of fatih. Carla was also active in her church community.  She will be remembered for the love she gave, the strength she demonstrated, her creativity, and the many ways she impacted the lives of those around her.

Carla leaves behind her beloved husband, son and daughter, two cherished grandchildren, five siblings, nieces and nephews, and many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

As we celebrate Carla’s life let us remember the impact she made, the beautiful art she created, the lessons she shared, the faith she held close, and most importantly the love she gave. Carla’s life was a work of art, and her memory will forever remain a beautiful part of ours.
