William Jeffery Hynes
June 18, 1953 - January 20, 2026
William Jeffery Hynes, 72, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away on January 20, 2026. Born June 18, 1953, in Bensenville, Illinois, William moved to Colorado in the 1970s to attend the University of Northern Colorado and made the state his home for the rest of his life.
A hardworking and motivated man, William devoted his early years to photography and the arts before finding his calling in the irrigation field. He spent decades learning, refining, and teaching that craft, eventually founding his business, wilWater. Known across the Colorado Front Range for his deep knowledge of irrigation and sprinkler systems and for building and repairing water pumps, many turned to him for practical help and wise counsel. Despite his professional commitments, he always made time for his family.
William was ferociously fun-loving and often the life of the party. His smile, infectious laugh, and habit of inventing new words and sayings brought joy to everyone around him. Generous, humorous, and full of good vibes, he shared his light freely with friends and family.
He loved the outdoors—boating and water-skiing, days at the beach, and snow skiing were some of his greatest pleasures. Above all, he adored his granddaughter, Perla, who filled his heart with happiness.
William is survived by his siblings Laurie, Rick, and Bob; his children Isaac and Holly; his co-parent, Donna; his granddaughter Perla; and many friends and extended family who will miss him every day.
Dad, we will think of you each time we hear your favorite songs, or say one of your funny words. We will think of you every time we visit the beautiful mountains, or the sandy beaches. You were always one hundred percent in—bringing motivation, energy, and laughter. You taught us to work hard, love freely, and not to take life too seriously. We will carry your light and your lessons with us always.
A celebration of life will be held in Colorado as the weather warms. We will share details and updates with friends and family as plans develop.
We find comfort knowing William’s light lives on through the laughter, love, and memories he gave us…
