Donovan Ryan Romero
Born on August 3, 1992, Donovan Ryan Romero peacefully returned to the stars on May 2, 2025, surrounded by love.
Donovan packed a lot of life into 32 years. He had big opinions, big feelings, a big smile and a contagious laugh. He loved food, cooking, good music, deep conversations, disc golf, making people laugh, was a loyal Colorado sports fan—and, of course, he was always up for an outdoor adventure. His greatest love was his daughters.
Prior to his passing, Donovan earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Information Systems. His family will accept his diploma at the commencement ceremony in July, which will be dedicated to his honor.
Donovan had a rare ability to be tough, tender, funny, kind, and fiercely protective. Life didn’t always go his way, but he never stopped trying, loving, giving, and hoping.
He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Myla Lanette Romero and Delilah Jean Romero; his wildly pampered dog, Penelope “Penny” Roo Roo; his mom, Tonette; his dad, Van; his brother, Devan; his paternal grandparents, Bonnie and Charlene Romero; aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, and a very special, tight-knit group of friends—“The Crew”—who will all miss him in ways too deep for words.
He also leaves behind stories: wild ones, tender ones, funny ones, even some unbelievable ones—and those will keep him close to all of us.
Donovan will be reunited with his maternal great-grandma Dee, paternal great-grandma Ruth, his daughters’ great-grandpa Doug, along with other family members and beloved pets.
Donovan didn’t get the storybook ending, but he gave us chapters we’ll never forget.
A service celebrating Donovan will be held on June 6, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at Seven Stones, located at 9635 N Rampart Range Road in Littleton. This is an outdoor venue.
