Alex Harvey

February 22, 2001 - March 6, 2024

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Alexander Loren Harvey, aged 23, on March 6, 2024. Later in her life, Alex identified as female, supported wholeheartedly by her loving family. We honor her as such in this obituary, recognizing the transition of her spirit from this world to the next. Alex leaves behind her sister, Ashley.

From her earliest days, Alex's presence radiated joy to all who knew her. Strangers were captivated by her infectious laughter and radiant spirit, a testament to her warm and engaging personality. Christine and Jim, her parents, were often stopped by admirers during outings with their adorable baby.

Alex's passions were as diverse as they were deep. From her love of Legos to her immersion in the enchanting world of Harry Potter, she approached life with curiosity and wonder. Her kindness and compassion earned her the prestigious Wolf award in middle school, a reflection of her innate goodness.

Academically gifted, Alex graduated high school a semester early before pursuing her passion for biochemistry at CU Denver, where she was posthumously awarded a degree. Beyond her studies, Alex found joy in spending time with family in Northern Michigan, visiting her grandparents in Naples,  to the vibrant streets of New York City, where she cherished time with her dear friend Jacob.

A foodie from an early age, Alex delighted in culinary adventures, relishing Indian cuisine, sushi, Pho, and the iconic bagels from Call Your Mother. Christmas Eve dim sum-making and Elf-watching were cherished traditions in her household, a testament to her love of family and festive spirit.

While the circumstances of Alex's passing are difficult to comprehend, we take solace in knowing she is free from the physical pain she endured. Her brilliance in biochemistry and her aspirations to make a meaningful impact on the world leave an indelible mark on those who knew her.

There is much to celebrate in Alex's life: her bottomless curiosity, unwavering compassion, and budding talent in stand-up comedy. She was on the brink of sharing her comedic gift, a testament to her courage and creativity.
