Mary Regina Shapley

Mary Regina Shapley died on Sunday June 5, 2022 with her daughter and family by her side. She was 72 .

Mary was born on February 17, 1950 in El Paso, Texas. She was the youngest of five daughters born to Charles Philip and Mary Regina Shapley. Mary was married for 20 years where she lived in California and had two children. She eventually divorced and moved to Hawaii with her daughter Marcelle. Mary was an executive assistant for many years for a real estate developer in Kailua, Hawaii. She also was an educator at a university where she competed her Bachelor of Science and Masters degree - all while raising her daughter as a single parent. Mary loved the ocean and was spiritual in her beliefs. She had an infectious laugh and love for life that touched everyone she met. She adored her daughter Marcelle who she often called her best friend and great love in this life. Mary and Marcelle lived in many states and travelled on many adventures together. Mary moved to Colorado in 2005 to be close to Marcelle while she attended nursing school. She most recently moved with her daughter from Denver back to Pueblo. Mary was beyond happy that Marcelle had met the love of her life, Zane, and often bragged of her future son-in-law. She loved her Yorkie Bubba and adored her grand fur babies Gracie, Molly, and Abby. She loved all kinds of music, enjoyed puzzles, and was an avid reader/fan of Nora Robert’s. Mary is survived by her daughter Marcelle; son Steven; four sisters Elsie, Doris, Phyllis, and Nora; and brothers Charles and Roger.

Mary’s wish was for a celebration of life that included her favorite people sharing food, drink, and laughter in her honor. Date and time will be provided to family and those close to her.
